Impact

Impact to date

Amjad has delivered training at over 40 institutions including 30 schools across every phase of education. He has worked with 500 school leaders and over 2000 teachers.

Data collected by Amjad’s course evaluations show that his audiences rate his training as being very effective at meeting its objectives.

Schools he has worked with testify to CPDBee that he: has supported rapid improvements in standards; facilitated developments in SEND provision; improved outcomes for disadvantaged students; supported them to build and embed teaching and learning action plans; improved their knowledge of SEND; and embedded long term approaches to improvements in teaching and learning that students themselves rate highly.

Impact measurements used

Amjad aims to improve: the effectiveness of teaching, SEND provision and the leadership of those new to post.

He monitors the impact of his training immediately after sessions through surveys that capture how effective his input was at meeting its objectives and what strategies participants intend to use. After his training, he gathers testimonials about his work from senior leaders.

External assessment of impact

Amjad has not yet had an independent, external evaluation of his impact.

Expertise

Programme design philosophy

As a classroom teacher, current senior leader and SENCO, Amjad’s delivery is rooted in daily, expert practice. It is informed by years of classroom and school-based experience and his own research into the evidence base of what works. He is able to improve both pedagogical knowledge and specialist (SEND) knowledge.

All his training sessions apply the same principles: he provides expert background, input and modelling; he provides an opportunity for participants to reflect, discuss and collaborate with each other; he provides feedback to participants, which is followed by time to implement learning into their practice by planning short, medium and long-term goals.

He goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure he understands your context, your needs and your objectives to make sure what he delivers is what was ordered.

Team experience and expertise

Amjad has 12 years teaching experience, is a former Advanced Skills Teacher, who is currently undertaking Lead Practitioner and Specialist Leader of Education training.

He is an Assistant Headteacher, a qualified and practicing SENCO and he has delivered professional development across the globe.

Testimonials

Essa Foundation Academies Trust, Patrick Ottley-O'Connor, Executive Principal

Amjad is an inspirational presenter, facilitator & coach. His sessions are engaging & thought provoking. The money I have as an executive Principal is limited, so I only look for impactful & sustainable CPD. Staff not only still talk about Amjad’s sessions, but employ strategies in everyday teaching.

Sandy Lane Primary School, Neil Davies, Headteacher

I already have recommended Amjad and would continue to do so. Arrangements beforehand were seamless and clear; Amjad was flexible to meeting our needs/demands; the delivery appealed to teachers/SLT; content was pertinent to what we asked for and has had impact on work in school since then – what Amjad was suggesting in his training was feasible (and supported by his resources) so teachers felt they could try things – they have since gone back and tried different things and were keen to do so.

St Peter's Middle School, Andy Snipp, Headteacher

Amjad is an extremely engaging facilitator. His tailored made sessions have challenged our staff and provided an ideal platform for our School Development. Amjad has been equally at home delivering sessions focused on developing the role of leader as he has been on developing outstanding practice in teaching and learning.

John Medejski Academy, Laura Ellener, Principal

Amjad has a huge amount of evidence based ideas techniques and information on Try This Teaching which is very useful for school leaders and teachers. I have no reservations in recommending this high-quality resource.

Bradford Grammar School, Simon Hinchliffe, Headmaster

Amjad is a first class teacher trainer, who delivers expert and practical guidance with great enthusiasm and personal warmth. He clearly walks his talk, practising what he preaches. A credible presence, Amjad has the authority and happy knack of being able to reach different audiences and various corners of our staff common rooms. He has something to say, communicates persuasively and with a deep, understanding about what works in schools.
